MORE ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting was inspired by the various blackbird fledglings who appear in our garden every spring and perch here and there - looking delightfully fat and fluffy - while waiting for their overworked parents to bring them the next meal.  The butterfly is a yellow admiral - these are also yearly visitors to our garden and one of my favourite NZ butterflies.  The soft yellow colour of the background portrays the brightness and new life of spring and compliments the warm red and brown tones of the rest of the painting.

About Giclee Prints

My art prints are personally produced by me in my studio from high resolution scans of my originals. I use a professional fine art printer and 300gsm, museum grade 100% cotton rag paper which is acid and lignin free. Each print is inspected for quality and hand signed on the back before sending.
