My New Painting 'Fuzzy Wuzzy'

Closeup detail of my latest work - a curious Little Owl and fuzzy friend!

Painting this brought back memories of searching for the adorable black furry caterpillars on Mum's cinerarias when I was a kid. They're from the Magpie Moth (aka Woolly Bear Caterpillars - you can see why!)

Little Owls are to be found in the South Island of NZ.  They are often seen perched out in the open during daylight hours, and live mainly off insects.

Apparently Magpie Moth caterpillars don't taste very nice so luckily this one should be safe!!
