Puriri Moth

The puriri moth has been on my list of jewellery to make for a long time, I love their colouring and the beautiful patterns on their wings.  They occur only in the native forests of the North Island, and are New Zealand's largest moth - they are huge, having a wingspan of up to 15cm!  I was lucky enough to see one, years ago, when the cat brought it in, fortunately unharmed!
