Beautiful Kowhai

I'm loving all the kowhai trees in flower this spring.  I always enjoy having a close up look at the flowers - they are so beautifully shaped, each one is a work of art. The gorgeous russet tinted velvety 'cap' at the top always makes you want to stroke it, and makes such a lovely contrast with the smooth petals.
